Jama Masjid

Jama Masjid is positioned at a short distance from Teen Darwaza, alongside Gandhi Road. One of the biggest and oldest mosques in India, Jama Masjid was built by Ahmed Shah in 1424. Jama Masjid is a built in the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture, a blend of Hindu and Islamic styles.

You can see it is made by using yellow sandstones; the architecture of this mosque is a blend of Hindu and Muslim styling.

In early days most of the mosque building was made from items salvaged from demolished Hindu and Jain temples.

There are different entrances to the mosque. Near the eastern entrance, stands the tomb of the Sultan Ahmed Shah, which houses the graveyard of three great rulers, namely Ahmed Shah I, his son, Mohammed Shah and his grandson, Qutub-Ud-Din Ahmed Shah II. Its a must Visit Place for every one.
