Salar Jung Museum

Established in 1951, This museum houses one of the biggest one-man collections of antiques of the world by Mir Yousuf Ali Khan, popularly known as Salar Jung III. The museum has a collection of sculptures, paintings, carvings, textiles, manuscripts,  metallic artefacts, carpets, and furniture from Japan, China, Burma, Nepal, India, Persia, Egypt, Europe, and North America.

In 1961, through an Act of Parliament, the SalarJung Museum along with its library was declared as an “Institution of National Importance”.
