GolGhar-Round Building Located to the west of the Gandhi Maidan,Patna. The GolGhar is the principal landmark of Patna. It was constructed under the orders of Lord Warren Hastings, as a state granary following a devastating famine in 1770. This granary has a storage capacity of 140000 tones.
The structure of GolGhar is 125 m and a height of 29 m and it has 145 steps to reach top of the granary.
This granary had been significant as it helped the Army to keep a watch on the surrounding areas of Patna.
