Baga is located in Badrez Taluka between Calangute and Anjuna beach. The beach is a portion of 30 km stretch of beach coastline along the west coast of Goa. The beach starts at Fort Aguada and finally ends at Chapora beach and Fort. Baga is 10 kms away from Mapusa and 18 kms from Goa’s capital, Panaji.
If you wish to retreat from the fast pace of your daily life, then Baga is the place for you.
Originally an extension of the famous Calangute beach, you will find Baga more isolated than its neighbour. Baga beach stands amidst high hills and wide open unbound – deep blue Arabian Sea. The beach is protected by a rocky headland and white waves flap on its rocky shores. At its northern end, the beach presents a picture-perfect view at the point where a small river merges with the Arabian sea.
Since long time, Baga has attracted global and domestic tourists alike for two reason – sun bath and sea bath. Apart from sunbath and seabath, Baga beach attracts tourists for its outstanding view of the sunset, which is markedly different from that of other beaches. Today, Baga is lined with endless number of shops, restaurants and hotels, but the beach is still very beautiful, especially when seen against the thickly forested Baga Hill.
