Majorda Beach lies in Salcete Taluka, just south of Utorda and north of Betalbatim. Panaji, the capital of Goa is 37 kms away from Majorda, while the important town of Margao is 10 kms away.
If you want complete peace, solitude and relaxation, far from the hustle and bustle of crowded beaches, then Goa’s Majorda beach is the place to be. Here at Majorda, the tranquil ambience responds to the humming of the sea. You can pass a good time by going through your favourite books alongwith enjoying the superb view of the sea coloured in golden orange by the rays of the setting sun.
Apart from its unmatched beauty, Majorda village is very popular for its delicious breads, even today the Majordans are Goa’s best bakers. A very interesting history is related to Majorda, it is said that Majorda is the place where the Jesuits, detected the finest Goan toddy (sap from the coconut palm), which they used in the bread. Majorda is also the village where the Goan first got the training in the delicate art of making European breads.
However, the delights of the Majorda beach are nothing new, these were discovered much earlier. In the mythic times, even the Goan version of Ramayana links Majorda to Lord Rama and Sita.
