
Shimla also famous as Simla, One of India’s most popular hill stations, picturesque Shimla is the capital of northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Shimla derives its name from Goddess Shyamala, an incarnation of Goddess Kali, the deity of power and wrath.
A place gifted with an abundance of natural beauty, Shimla is spread across 12 kilometers along a ridge and overlooks some wonderful terraced hillsides and cultivations. The British lost no time in declaring it the summer capital of India in the year 1864. Shimla was initially the capital of Punjab after independence and later made the capital of Himachal Pradesh.
